Anniversary Card - day later

hello everyone hope this Saturday finds you all really gooooddd!

I am at my home lapttop this morning to post this for you all

I am so sorry for all the missing posts this week

I still don't have my computer issues fixed :-(

okay so first let me say that yesterday was Rex and I's 22nd anniversary

I had a good day

my mom came to visit at my office and brought us a beautiful card (that she made thank you mom)

and brought a nice plant and a gift card

we had coffee together and chatter - it was nice and quiet in the office - for a Friday afternoon - had Renee installing decals on site

it was nice thank you MOM!

okay now you want to see what I made right lol

here we go friends

started with photos from 22 years ago and our journey (married life) together

 
I printed a few photos and cut them out

 
then I started to build a card

I used my Big Shot to make this

used the  Framed tulip border embossing folder

and the vintage wallpaper impression embossing folder

my card will all be Black and white

 
more layers as I was doing this I was making this card up

no idea where it was going to go

but I love the way it turned out

I had two ideas photos and layers lol

 
now I did a top flap - like a photo from 22 years ago

and then a photo of now

 
okay so the front card part is ready the front flap is ready

now I am going to work on the inside

now for matting all the photos

 
now for some stampin

I used Black Staz on for all my stampin

I stamped on scrap white pieces

I have not adhered anything yet

 
I also used a bunch of different punches to get the desired shapes for my stamped greetings

I used lot's of sticky tape and dimentionals and 3/4 of a roll of glue dots on this card

I know so many layers

did I ever mention that I love layers lol

Motorcycle Swap Cards

Hello my blogging friends!

whow It's Friday for ME LOL - I know its Thursday but I am leaving in the morning for Renee's cheer Competition in Toronto!

So today I am trying to finish up my man swap card!

so I decided to stamp the new Motorcycle stamp on watercolour Cardstock and with Versa Mark in black

I used the watercolour pencils and ink pads and a  little shimmer paint!

so here is my motorcycle

now let's start making a background to put this motorcycle on!

I edged the edges and I was not impressed need something more then this!

I am not liking this lets go visit Mr. Big Shot

let's do a little texture

I used "Dear Father"

I used alot of different sizes of oval punches

okay I have everything cut and ready to assemble

as you all know I am not so good at these types of cards - but

yha know its good to do things out of our elements right?

these are three brads that I used

up close to the motocycle water colouring!

it was really exciting for me to get 1000 pages views on Friday! I was blown away!

anyways today is the last day  - but I wanted to still post for YOU my loyal friends!

Sooooooooo on the weekend I spent alot of hours on my Mom's Mothers day Gift

cause I won't be here next weekend I really wanted to make sure she knew that I did not forget!

soooooooooooooo I got up at 2:30 am on Saturday to start on her special project

ouh but I am not show you that today LOL
because the Royal Blog Tour is one till tonight, I am going to hold off and show you the  special project tomorrow okay?

I have fun step by step!

but today I am going to show you something NEW

this card uses two challenges the first is a sketch that I am involved in on Stampin Connect

the sketch this week was by Diane

we all take turns at designing a sketch

anyways - the other challenge is from the LNS that I also design for!

It's pearls and beads this week!

so I used to major tools on my card

the first was Mr. Big Shot and my new Die from

The Stampin Up Summer Mini

Second was the Brand New Presto DSP

also fromt he same mini!

I used Pink Pirouette since it will soon be available in the new catalogue yhe!

and Basic Grey Both colours were mixed with

....................???

come on you know?!!!!

Shimmer Pain for sure he he  lol

 
  

After I die cut my flowers (this one is from the Blossom Party Die 

That is on Page 202 of the Stampin Up Idea Book

I did three flowers all Mom's card

I used the new die on the other two side flowers

one more flower to make

voila my mom's card

ouh but wait till you see that matching box with all the wonderful photos 

he he

I can't wait to show you!

I used all sorts of beads and pearls from Stampin  UP!

I adhere them with  Tomboy Glue

 
so pretty uh?

Well that brings my Monday post to a close!

I had such a wonderful Sunday!

We were real busy My mom and I made alot of pies - she did all the Pie crust and shells

and I made the stuff to go in he he :-)

the best pie was for the Sugar Pie - this is a French Canadian Pie and it's to DIE for you

yhum - not soooooo good for the HIPS but sometimes you just got to have a little sweet yhum yhum! LOL
it was real nice! I had stuck supper in the oven first thing in the morning so we could have supper ready when we were done pie making!

I think we made like 30 some pies??? Right Mom

anyways that was my Sunday - Saturday was spent with Renee - between Cheer and Shopping!

like that is going to happen soon NOT I am the LAST minute Packer  - my bad!

Presto and Stampin connect sketch #SCCSC13 and Diva coffee break

good day!

We are at the top of the week - it's Monday!

yhippeeee LOL - is the weekend almost here??? LOL

hope you all had a super great weekend

the weather here in Alberta was just beautiful!

Renee's competition went well and they are getting ready for the BIG National event in Toronto!

okay so this morning I worked with the really nice sketch that Liz Goldhawk created for the Stampin Connect!

I also used the Diva Coffee Break Design #172

I love these colours

once I had  a sketch and some colours I needed a technique!

so I chose what is called

Wrinkle Free Distress

this was not using Stampin Up

so ofcourse I had to re-created the effect using only

Stampin UP Products

I am going to do a full tutorial tomorrow for you

I also want to show you how using the same card stock but using a different look

you can change your card so much

sooooooooooooo

I started the the wonderful

Presto DSP

boy oh boy do I ever love this prouct

then I pulled out some wax paper

my stamp pad and the Smooch

and then plunked my cardstock down on here

I then used my heat gun to dry

I added colour with my stamp pad and my dabbers

did a greeting with Well Scripted

as  the LNS challenge for my group is Mother's day cards

I also did some punching on the edges

trying to decided which greeting I will use 

I punched the greetings with my oval and scallop oval punches

I used a chocolate chip satin ribbon and did some butterflies

on Mr. Big Shot

voila my card

tomorrow's card will use the same Presto card stock

but I am going to use a vintage Look instead

kinda cool uh?

you will see the cards side by side and you can will be able to judge which one you prefer okay?

I will be drawing for the Blog Candy tonight!

Asian Artistry finished my little book with a card

hello to y'all my blogging friends

sooooooooooooo today I have a really unique little story to share with you!

But first I want to give an introduction to what I did this morning okay!

As you know yesterday I started an asian little note book, and I said I was going to finish it today!

So I did that and I also did a matching card with this little book - I used

Just Add Ink Challenge 

I used the same colours as my book!

But first I want to share this with you!

I want to chat a little about Darrell - those of you who follow my blog, you know that Darrell is a close family friend who is also my son Evan's Godfather

ssssssssssssoooooooooooooo now that you have officially met Darrell I have such a special little story to share with you

Darrell phoned me about 6 weeks asking me to help him create a birthday card for his mom!

Sooooooooooooo we spent 8 hours creating the most amazing card for his mom, needless to say he has caught the stampin BUG he he

so Darrell has now started to stamp and has come to my stampin class!

on Sunday when he came to class he presented me with the most precious card!

HE MADE this card for ME!

so I created my last two projects kinda casing 

my Stampin friend Darrell (along with his mom Annette who helped Darrell create this amazing beautiful card)

isn't it just so cool!

So super precious and I am just so touched!

I just had to share this special little story with you!

onto finishing my  projects

I am running out time this morning............. so the tutorial on how to make the little beads will be tomorrow!

Sorry about that!

But anyways I created BEADS with Scrap Paper............ can you beleive it??

and made my card ofcourse!

okay here's the card I did

so this is the background I created yesterday

which I will use on my card today!

I cut it down to match the sketch

then I punched two edges to accent this beautiful piece

I added a beautiful RED Satin Ribbon

which will be carry forward into the next Stampin Up Summer Mini

now for a greeting  

I used the Well Scripted stamp set

with Gold Metallic

it look okay just needs  a little something something

my thought was to use some hard ware

but it was blah

so I turned an ivory brad into a red brad 

I used red craft ink and clear embossing powder

now I am happier LOL
this is coming together nicely

I added some brad and I used Liane's little angle design

I loved it on her swap cards, which I will be featuring on my blog tomorrow!

okey doke I am ready to assemble and show you my card!

remember that I created these bead 

All By Myself HE HE I am a big girl NOW

lol - sorry one of my goofy moments 

so I used scrap paper - but I will show you that tomorrow I promise okay??

aren't they just the coolest he he

I am so excited about them and I am thrilled to use them!

I strung them - and used a clear bead from the Pretties kit

onto my little notebook

Good day y'all!

My mom and I were really busy this weekend!

we got 55 Swap cards done for Renionals in Calgary!

It's coming fast, we are heading out on Friday!

I feel very behind the eigth ball with all this stuff going on!

I have all ready been at work since 3:40am!

so can you tell how my week is starting out!

Ouh don't get me wrong I totally 100% love it!

I feel totally blessed, just behind he he

having said that I want to chat about a few things!

them had to chane my mind 

I  stamped my greeting from th new Well Scripted

I sure love my new Clear Mount Stamps from Stampin Up!

  

I added ribbon and brads and voila

I know not really the WHOW factor that I usually do

It didn't seem like I had much time to play

when I headed to work so early

Romantic Silk-Shimmer Watercolour Background - my new invention!

Good Morning!

whow I had such a hard time deciding on this name holly y'all made it hard for me he he :)

here's what I went with

"Romantic Silk-Shimmer Watercolour Background"

for Short RSSWB! he he

okay soooooooooooooo The Romantic came from Lee

The Silk was Janets'

shimmer was Chris H.

& Kim was the Watercolour

here's what I decided to do!

I will draw two names tomorrow after I make one more card using this background technique & will announce the name tomorrow oh my yes on my NON POST day

all Cause I love y'all so much HE HE :)

so I did a The Curtain Call Challenge on this card

 

Then I used the Z Fold -

okay, so my first attempt was a big failure - the colours were the problems

I won't waste your time with that today just because this post is all ready going to be long and don't want to bore you he he:)

okay so

ROMANTIC SILK-SHIMMER WATERCOLOUR BACKGROUND!

whow before I start this I need to grab a coffee he he - give me a minute :)

I will up load my first photo

my new colours 

so I scribbled with all four of my colours - oh for Kraft I used the Creamy Carament

Yha I am back he he coffee in hand a homemade potatoe soup cooking on the stove he he :)

spray shimmer mist

(shimmer mist is water mixed with shimmery paint - I use both Champage and the Frost White - you want  your water to look MILKY)

make sure it good and WET

blend in all directions so you have none of that scribble left

VERY IMPORTANT
let Dry at this stage for a good 1/2 hour

I left mine for about an hour

 
  now you need stamp pads - dabbers and Shimmer paint ofcourse LOL

wrip an edge of a sticky note and start dabbing

keep going

just keep dabbing ink until you like the look!

now for the stamp

  I found some photos to try to inspire me

I used the little bunch to make my reefs

I dabbed creamy caramel

now I added more blue on the top to make it look more like an ocean

coming together 

 
I stamped the turtle from the

Natures Nest stamp Set

on shimmery white

colouring with stamp pads and shimmer paint

my turtles are ready 

hum now what 

this is where I struggled to put this card together

I think I like the layers I chose

but then I need to add more details

layer LAST lol - that is what I do usually but I after putting it kind like this I just knew it need something

I used the DSP called Sending Love - it's so sparkly and I just love it

it's in the Occasions Mini Catalogue that Stampin Up have

I used two square punches -

1 1/4'' and 1 3/8''

I used mini glue dots to adeher the little felt cirlces

I also used Brown 5/8'' Satin Ribbon

now I am going to put a pretty little brad in the center of the felt flowers

I am using the new brads called

ofcourse this is in the Mini

on Page 13!

I used my Crop - a -dile

The crop a dile has no problem going thru all the layers!

 Just look at this!!!

I beleive I am going to make it

just going to use a glue dot behind the two flowers and VOILA

Okay so I thought the brown ribbon  was a little BLAW

so I added a ribbon bow with a brad - I had 7 seconds LOL

Herb Expressions with Faux Hand-dyed Silk

Good morning

It is Monday and I can't say I seen the weekend!

oh well a new week as began, all ready filled with challenges - but I will forge ahead in hopes that my week will only get better!  My dad always used to tell me, if it wasn't for bad luck he had no luck at all, okay dad I think you passed that on to me! LOL

sooooooooooo This week for our Design team over at Late Night Stampers, we have to use Soft Subtle - ouh but wait, if that is not bad enough, we CAN'T use neutrals!

oh I know CRAZY uh??

okay sooooooooooo I found two challenges that I thought would be cool to do

the first was

They challenged us to use a new Technique that we have never done before

I chose to try my hand at Faux hand-dyed Silk

but I will show you how ended up doing mine okay?

then I used the Sketch from the Diva Coffee Break

okay let's get started

sooooooooooo I pulled out some glossy card stock (I know no neutrals but I am going to cover it up he he :)

I tried this three times - I am going to show you the things I did wrong along the way in hopes of helping YOU okay??

supplies you will need

Versa Mark

Glossy White Card stock

Reinkers

Alcohol

Water and a wide paint brush

The first step, is to stamp with Versa Mark

I used Herb Expressions

now the error I made the first try was that I didn't dry my versa mark correctly

so then I decided to used embossing powder

okay DO NOT DO THID he he :)

my supplies are ready and my card stock is also ready

dunk your brush in ink and add a little water

start making strokes

now make the strokes on Glossy card stock

okay so you can see the embossing is taking over

I restarted

so this time after I stamped with my versa mark and heated it CORRECTLY

I was more patient lol

this time I only used Perfect Plum and Pale Plum

you can see the this is turning out much better

now this is one of the steps that I did different

first I did a diagnol line not just straight across

and when I added my alcohol I actually added shimmer paint

cause silk is kinda shimmery RIGHT?? HE HE :-)

let's assemble this card and put a greeting on

I used Well Scripted and embossed it on Pale Plum

 
Greeting

I coloured a White satin Ribbon with Perfect Plum Stampin Up Marker

please do not forget to wipe your ribbon with semi wet baby wipe

this will blend your colour really nicely

 
on my layer for my greeting I decided to darken the perfect plum with a dabber and perfect plum ink - with just tadd of.........

you guess it shimmer paint lol

that is better

I did the same to the base of my card stock

okay ready to assemble

I added some bling

as well

voila 

I did assemble the green one and I will show you that one as well

this is the green one 

I used some bling from the Occasions Mini Catalogue

which has dissapeared from my craft room

so I am sorry I do not know the page it was on

my first couple cuts and score

I added a lot of layers on this card he he

I used a stamp pad that I kinda had fergotten about

I love to rediscover things in my craft room he he:)

so I used Silver

But a ROSA moment 

I wheeled it upside down

embossed silver and the right side up lol

kay I know you are thinking silver is not going to go with this

I was thinking the SAME thing

hey it's part of the colour challenge soooooooooooooo

got to make it work

so I have done alot of embossing and cut alot of layers

now I get to do the fun part

I get to decorate this card

did some punching

now I am going to add some inks

I stamped with leaves from Vintage Vogue

 I dabbed  all three ink colours

alll dabbed up!

I masked around the MOM Greeting

I stamped a little and dabbed alot

after I removed the masking this is what it looks like

so this is the first front panel

I stamped flowers and cut out flowers

this is the first inside panel that I did 

and the ribbon that I chose

this is the inside peice

and voila my mom's card

with the Happy Birthday embossed in Silver
