Good day to all my blogging friends!
It's my favourite day of the week - it's Sunday and I get to stay home all day!
as promised today I am going to give you a Carole'Anne version of a Side Step Card!
So the one I did yesterday I was not 100% happy with - sooooooooooo
I went back to the drawing board and recreated the wheel - HE HE - I am kidding - but I did recreat this card called "Side Step"
so you can visualize what I did I am going to show you the card. OUH never done that before uh? LOL
okay soooooooooooooooo here we go ladies
you will start with a card stock piece cut to 7 1/2'' x 12''
now we will make our first score - which will be at 6''
then we are making our first cut
this cut is VERY important
so here's two photos first to help you understhand the correct way to cut it okay
- cause I hate wasting! he he
so you can see that you cut at 2 3/4'' from the left side -
BUT this is the important part
you will start at 1 1/2'' from the bottom and you will STOP at 8 1/8''
here's another photo for you
okay yhike I hope you are following me???
Now we are going to score (this will Make the STEPS part of our card)
We are only Scoring the piece to the right okay? - so NOT that 2 3/4'' strip (to the left of our card)that I am showing you in the photo above okay???
you are cutting to the RIGHT of the 2 3/4'' cut line
your first Score is going to line up with the beginning of your cut line (the one to the left)
1 1/2'' - and you score all the way to your cut line from right to left
second score at
2 1/2''
your third score is
5 1/4''
you 4th score you have all ready - it's at 6''
and your last score it will line up with the END of you cut line wich should be at
8 1/8''
can you see the steps now??
I am also going to show you the closed version - cause you will see that the way I did this side step, the card will close up beautifully
so you can see from the photo that you only score up to that cut line
okay now we are going to decorate this Side Step Card
colour of card stock I used are
Black, Whisper white, and Pink Passion - all Stampin Up Card Stock he he :)
I am going to give this card to my sister in law for her birthday!
so we are going to cut our pink passion pink into an
"L" Shape
soooooo........if you start from the bottom your first cut is 7 1/2 and your side cut is 5 3/4''
you will now have a rectangle
now for the L shape cut
start by measuring 2 1/2'' from the left side
you will cut from this 2 1/2'' down to 1 1/8'' from the bottom
what I did is made a pencil mark first - that indicated
1 1/8'' from the bottom at 2 1/2'' from the left side
making sense??? now you have a nice piece left to create little rectangles for your steps
they measure -
#1 - the bigger of the two is
4'' x 3''
the #2 the smaller is
4'' x 1 5/8'' -
sorry I missed a photo of this -
but I did add one more layer - I did not give you measurements for that -
didn't want to overwhelm you!
gheesh I sure hope it made sense :)
now I textured thos white pieces
using my BIG SHOT of course LOL
so I did Faux Cloisonne technique here -
I was going to show you how to do this technique -
but I was thinking that would be too much for one post
let me know if you do want me to post a tutorial on it okay?? then I will
so my rose comes the fifth avenue floral stamp set
now to finish up this card!
I embossed some on the black panels -
the I used the new Black ribbon that will be available in the New Mini!
I also used some bling with some pretty Brads
all supplies are Stampin Up!
my pretty little bling bling brads
hey you know what I did not pull a Rosa on this card - can you beleive it???? HEHE
or Te Te for Liane!
there we have it my Side Step Card!
pretty little pearls from my pretties kit
I adhere these with my glue dot - it's really simple!
-
this is my rose up close using the "Faux Cloisonne" Technique -
this is so pretty uh? I did the leaves the same way -
that stamp set is called Autumn splendor!
one last photo this one I took with the flash on -
whowhy I sure hope I did okay with this card tutorial
I really hope that it wasn't to hard to understand
anyways!
Hope to hear from you - and if you leave a comment you have a chance to win
TESS!
that's is a great stamp set to win as Blog Candy
Wishing all a SUPER Wonderful Sunday!
