Good Monday Morning to all you my Blogging Buddies!
This morning was a nice early start and I was so excited to use a stamp set that purchase a long time ago - and just could never make it work!
Well today the perfect occasion came up and I got to put it to use! The stamp set is called Shellebrate!
Okay let me explain! Firstly over at LNS which I am on the design team for, and have to say I am so enjoying being part of this team! Anyways the challenge this week is as follows:
Everyone has a favorite holiday, and no matter which one is yours, or what time of year, it’s lots of fun to make paper crafts for your favorite holiday of the year. This week’s challenge is to create a card (or any paper craft) using 100% current Stampin’ Up! products for YOUR favorite holiday! This should be an easy one and we would love to have over 50 entries from the members! Let's set that as our goal this week!
Okay so having given you this information, now comes more details as to why I used Shellebrate Stamp set From Stampin Up! So back December of 2001 following some pretty tragic events in my family life, my husband Rex, and I decided that we needed to create a new tradition for Christmas.
Having said that, we decided that we give our kids the GIFT OF TIME! What does this mean??? It means that we go away, to some place warm, and we spend a week or two, just the four of us. We just give each other the gift of time. Nothing to do, but be together, talk, play games, and I read Evan and Renee and book, and would you beleive that even thought they are 19 and 16 they still really love it. I always try to pick a book that is a true story that will bring them a beautiful message! I started doing this when Evan was 11 and Renee 8! soooooooooooo after this long drawn out story, I chose Christmas holidays for my favorite, but because we don't spend Christmas the traditional way I used the stamp set called "Shellebrate"!
Now ofcourse you know that I LOVE challenges soooooooooo I chose to put this stamp set into a couple challenges! The first one is Gretchen's weekend sketch.
the second is the SPCC Christmas colour challenge

Oh I know this is intersting uh???
here we go!
It's 3:05am! Max ( Supervised by his mama ofcourse) and Goldie have been outside, my bed is made, I have a coffee in hand and I am ready to stamp!
So here's my stamp - the sketch and the colours!
Did Circles and Scalloped Circles with my Big Shot - Did you know you can easily do two layers of cardstock?? works so real well!
I was trying to put in some patterned paper on my card front - but I just didnt like it
so I made my own - OH NO I didn't use my Fav. Bridge paper - can you beleive it?? HE HE
This was my first attempt - didn't like it so much.............
Better - I did pale plum on Shimmery White
now for colouring! OUH did you know that I LOVE to colour? LOL! :)
I Stamped my image with black Staz On First - can you see that I did a practice one first!
I used my stamp pads - I squeeze the stamp pad together so that the lid touches the ink pad and it will leave a nice amount ink in the lid for you to use with a blender pen!
I used my watercolor Pencils to do the sand and the bucket! (Watercolor Pencils are in the Stampin Up Idea book on page 154)
okay I also used two punches to create my greeting - These are on Page 186 & 187 - I used the new Modern Label punch for the Not Quite Navy and the Word window punch for the greeting.
Coloured a couple of ribbons to match this card and we are almost there!
there we have it! My favorite time of the year - time spent with my precious family in a NON tradional way - but it's Sluchinski Family Way!
Hope you enjoyed my card this morning??
oh yes one more up close photo - cause I did add a little shimmer to some of the sea shell!
I am making something real special to go with this card!
So please come back tomorrow to check it out!
Ouh yes you know I got Blog Candy - so please don't leave without posting a comment!
Hey any suggestions for me to make my blog that much better??? Please share them - would just love ot hear what you think!
thank you to each and everyone of you!
I wishing you a really Marvelous Monday
Embossed hug
to you from me
