En Francais background stamp turns into a thank you card

Good y'all

It's almost the weekend!

we will have another busy one this weekend - Renee has a cheer competition in The City this weekend and we are signed up to volunteer............... Should be a good busy weekend! Fun Stuff uh?

But for today my friend I am working on a card! I have several thank you cards that I am excited to make!!!! So this card I made for Darrell............. Let me explain.............

When Evan and Darrell made the big breakfast on Sunday Darrell just fell in love with my old looking card that I had made last weekend!

sooooooo I thought I would make his card that way!

ouh yes I made it old looking all right!

I am not totally SOLD on it and I redid a few things on this card along the way!

but it's done and I hope you like what I did!

here we go!

my orginal though was to use the Mojo Monday sketch with a tag and a butterfly

but that was not manly enough and besides I did a tag last time

soooooo you guessed it I changed my mind

ouh I know I am so crazy that way 

I changed my mind so many times

 
then my thought was to try and make it look like a little stack of letters being sent 

so I was gong to try and stack some card stock to make it look like it was a few letters

the old style - they would wrap it with a string!

okay well my first attempt was a BIG FAT fail

he he

but hey do I ever give up??

nope not so much LOL

sooooooooo I decided to take an actual envelope and make it look like it came from the 30's

so I did that and did a wax impression in the corner

I also tried my hand at calligraphy

may of worked better if I actually had a calligraphy pen he he

this looks old uh?

I did a lot of edging!

did I mention I did alot of edging LOL

so my one envelope looks okay okay

but I am still not really happy with it

so I stamped it with the Sanded background stamp and made it look even older

I also added another little envelope underneath it!

ouh la la then I pulled out a Christmas stamp

I know I am CRAZY LOL

but remember I am making this look like a letter right??? that was mailed he he

sooooooooo you bet I pulled out 

Winter Post - Stampin Up Stamp I love this stamp!

okay so now I have two enveloppes and I have alot of torn edges and burned ones too he he

without incident

whow that is super good uh??? LOL
the ribbon I really liked again was just not manly enough

 
ouh yes now for some pages out of a book

I tore up and inked up

this is a good stress releaver uh?

just have fun and tare away!

created  a little tag with the words 

"thanks"

what do you think?
I am actually not sold on it

but I do think that Darrell will like it

cause it has alot of the elements that he liked from my other card!

oh well I chalk it up for experience right?

I had to take several photos up close

cause it's hard to take in all the little details that I put into this card

I aged a kraft cordoroy button

and since in July they will retire this colour I better use up my kraft stock uh?

here you can see the second envelope that I added

these are the layers and the ribbon

I embossed the Thanks and I put an eyelet with a ribbon

Friends 24-7 vintage along with Mojo Monday sketch

hello everyone

hope you are all having a super wonderful Saturday!

I sure am

been playing with a vintage card since 2:30am and I have had  a blast - can't wait to share it with you, as I am on the edge of liking it or not I did alot of mind changing along the way with this one!

but hey that is the fun part of creating I think!

soooooooooooooo ouh yes today is the BIG announcement day!

Sandi and I will have a special post just for that later today! yhahooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!

so I worked with the Mojo Monday sketch today

when I had seen it early this week I was thinking I had an idea!

so my brain brewed the idea over and over all week until I started with the tags last night!

then got up bright and early and started to play!

yhe such a blast - I love love Saturdays, cause I am not rushing out of the house!

this is the sketch - I turned it side ways and created tags instead of rectangles

okay here we go!

I designed to tags

and then I stamped with Fresh Cuts Stamp

I used three colours

Old Olive

More Mustard and

Cocoa

ouh yes this reminds me tomorrow I will share with you all the colour changes that Stampin Up are doing! It needs it's own post.......... Trust me This is BIG he he! :-)

Talking about tomorrow, I know it's a non post day............

but I have something special things to share with y'all that I want to do a show and tell

cause yesterday I received such a nice surprise from my sis Sandi and my friend Lee

and you should see what the my girls at work did for me!

getting back to my card he he

then I embossed with silver 

I did alot of distressing and this only the beginning lol

 
I edged a lot card stock on this card

mostly with the Cocoa

I used the sanded background stamp and again I used all three inks

ouh la la this is dangerous for me LOL
but I did it

so I used a stencil for this and well take a look

I took alot of upclose photos cause it's hard to capture all the details by just looking at it

it's cool cause I stamped on both sides of the tag, and so when you roll it like ths

the other side shows the stampin

cool uh?

I used a big eyelet and I put thru three different coloured ribbons

 
my greeting I used the oval punch and it distressed it

I also used 4 chocolate chip brads

this is the embossing that I did with Silver

this is where I got out a little shimmer and my aqua painter he he

this is the silver ribbon that I coloured with the silver pad 

this is the bottom left corder it's kinda cool I crimpled up all the layers and even added

an extra one

okay well I will show you one more shot of the card and I am done for the day!

until we reveal our new Design Team!

Backwoods meets Challenge #44 and Mojo Monday

Good Morning - it's Tuesday Nov. 3rd, and it's my mom in-law's Birthday - Happy Birthday Mrs. Sluchinski! ( Yhap I still call her Mrs. Sluchinski - it's the  polite thing to do - I know I have know her since 1984- he he - my son calls his her girlfriend's dad Mr. H - aint that cute??)

oh yha soooooooooooo what did I do today??? Well here we have it; another manly card - are you are sick of them yet? LOL  - 2 more this week and then I will go back to making Christmas cards, okay???

What I originally started with was the Sanded background and the Backwoods stamp - of course as you know I am famous for changing my mind lol  :)

then I wanted to do this cool technique - and I am sorry I do not know the name of it - but here's what I did - or should I say try to do - I had to fail a few times before I succeeded lol :)

I wanted to emboss branches on creamy caramel card stock. I used the branches from the bird in Stampin Up stamp set called "Friends 24-7!

so my first attempt was with versa mark and then stamped the background with the "Sanded" background stamp

well NOT so much - you can't even see the the branches - okay I am going to try white embossing now

so far so good lol

that is until I stamped with the background stamp ha ha

okay okay - let's rethink this background stamp - the white branches are good - but here's what I did instead - no background stamp - Instead I used my trusty little sponge to make the sanded look on the background -

 now I am going to use my sponge and two colours Chocolate chip and Close to cocoa

 now this is what I was looking for - I stamped words from the "Stampin Up" Stamp set called " Peace Within" in Chocolate chip

and I am going to use the deer from the stamp set called "Backwoods"

I made like a little picture frame for the deer - then I put two eyelets on the top -

I love my Crop-a-Dile - one of my fav. toys lol - I just love having my class play with it - so much fun he he :)

okay now I am almost done!

oh yha I almost forgot - somewhere in the middle of this gong show I decided that I would like to use the MoJo Monday sketch he he :) 

and well here we have it!

aint it cute - or should I say MANLY he he - okay here is the final card

not 100% the sketch - but close right? LOL
