A short post in memory of my baby brother Paul Méthot

Good Sunday mornin to you my friends
I would like to take a few moments on this quiet Sunday morning here in Victoria BC
To reflect on my baby brother Paul
Today marks the anniversary that we lost our Paul
It was a Thursday evening about 8:30 pm on feb 3 2000 when Paul decided to end his life.(sigh - tear).......
I realize that it's been 13 years, and perhaps many wounds have healed, however missing my brother has stayed the same since from that very day back in 2000........
I am aware that I have shared this with Y'all before and I will apologize if this is redundant, however I cannot pass this day by without reflecting and sharing with you my blogging friends.
Paul was an amazing young man and I said this to Margot last night, as we chatted in the comfort of our hotel room here in Victoria BC! I also said that although Paul was only my brother for 28 years and 5 month - I feel that we knew each other so good and spent a huge amount of time together and that it's way more then most people would experience in a life time with their siblings!
Oh he was the funny guy he made everyone laugh - everyone loved Paul!
I am utterly blessed to have had such a wonderful amazing baby brother ( wish I could better express these feelings into words sigh)
As I sit here I still feel that he is deep in my heart and although i so wish I could hear is laughter one more time, I am so comforted with the fact that I will keep his spirit alive and well for MY entire life!
So today on this day as I will go onto a yoga matt here at the Victoria yoga conference I will reflect on what a magnificent blessing my baby brother was and IS to me!
I am grateful beyond words to have had Paul in my life...........
I want to thank you for taking the time stop in and read my blog today
I realize that I have been absent a lot lately!
For that I am sorry!
I am trying to fit everything into a very busy schedule and I have had to cut back on something and that has been blogging!
I am goin to make a better effort in the next few weeks to blog a min if 2 days a week!
As I get to spend more time in my craft room I will share projects that are up and coming and share our fabulous swap teams cards with y'all!
So with that said I will quickly explain my photos
The first three photos are of the most thoughtful, caring, loving, funny, baby brother ever - Paul Méthot!
The first photo is taken and my beautiful Renée! The second photo is really, my all time favourite photo of Paul. You can see from this photo how really gentle that young man was, as he holds the little fawn in his arms
The last photo is of Paul and I!
We had gotten these photos done for my mom and I truly treasure that memory!

Now I can't close this post without a couple photos of my weekend here with cousin Margot!
Whow what a fabulous day it was at the Yoga conference!
So super thankful to have this opportunity!
So photo 4 is Margot showing the most beautiful breakfast buffet ever!
It was so delicious!
The last photo is the front if our hotel!
This hotel was built in the late1800's and
It's truly magnificent!

this is a day that marks a great deal of sadness for my mom and I.

today is the day we lost Paul

for those of you who maybe new to my blog, you may not know who Paul was

Paul was my baby brother

Paul was born on Sept. 5, 1971

 4 1/2 years younger then me, and that is why I always said he was my baby brother

We lost Paul Feb. 3, 2000

they say it gets easier

well today marks the 12 anniversary

and I am not sure if it gets easier

perhaps the wound is not as raw

but as I reflect on today I can't help but feel sad that

Evan and Renee have now spent more time without him and then with him

and THAT makes me feel so sad - cause he loved them so much

and I truly miss having my sibling

sorry for being so sappy

I would like to share some photos

I have chosen photos from when Paul was very young and some photos of when he was older

and I will also share a few photos of my grandma

you see 2000 was a harsh year

we also lost my grandma - (jan 19, 2000) and Paul (Feb 3, 2000)

I will say this

they both have brought me lot's of joy and happiness and I would not be the person I am today if they were'nt in my lives

and even though they are not here with me I think of them everyday

and truly I have grown from these experience

you see I beleive something like this can make you or break you

I have always chosen the positive route

so although this is a sad day

i am still so grateful to have had what I had with both of these amazing people

you see Paul and I were not just siblings

but we also worked together

and this photo is taken at our grand opening for our shop back in 1995

we built a brand new shop

we were so proud of that moment

we started our business in 1993 - Paul and I worked together till Feb. 3rd. 2000

I really like this photo of PAUL

I am going to move onto some photos of my Gandma

she was such an inspiration to me

she was a school teacher and farm wife

and she was born in 1918 not too many career women from those years you know?

I just loved that about her

it's my mom and my grandma at our wedding

they look so adorable don't you think?

It's a non card day today - its remembering my baby brother

today is February 3rd, and I will not be doing a card today

sorry about that!

however today marks a day that I cannot just pass by

11 years ago at 8:35pm I lost my only sibling

my baby brother

his name was Paul R. Methot

Paul was only 28 when he left us and it seems like it was just too soon

he was an amazing brother and there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of him

I always keep his spirit alive within our family by telling wonderful stories of him

as he is one of those people that everyone loved

a great sense of humour and always had a smart remark

I want to share some of my favorite photos of Paul - I hope you all understand and are okay with this post today!

she is a wonderful person and I am so happy that we have kept in touch over the year

His big smile was always a highlight of my day

he would come by everyday and pick up the decal orders

my son Evan would wait for his truck to come down the hill

and I remember the first Monday after he passed away

Evan sat by the door in disbelief that Uncle Pauls truck was not coming down the hill

anyone that greives the lost of a loved one - knows this feeling

he always called Evan

this is the last photo I have of my Grandma and Paul together

it was Christmas 1999

the last normal Christmas

my Grandma passed away Jan 19 of 2000

and then two short weeks later

Paul passed away on Feb. 3 of 2000

it was a hard year that 2000

but I am one of those people who beleives that I can choose to be

a victim or a survivor

I have always chosen to be a survivor

I miss my baby brother very much - but I also know he would want me to be a good mom to two wonderful kids - cause Paul just loved them both so much

I could not be a good mom if I chose to be a victim

so with that said I continue to talk about Paul every day

I tell my Evan and my Renee how wonderful their Uncle Paul was

and that I am so proud to have been his big sister for 28 years

in closing I want to wish you all a really wonderful day

and I thank you for understanding that I could not

post a normal post on this Day
