Good morning - It's Monday! I am looking forward to a new week, that will be much better then the last - thinking positive! HE HE :)

This morning I am working on our LNS challenge - here's the details of our challenge for this week!

Challenge #45

Going along side with Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Gift Giving Guide we want to challenge you to come up with great gift giving ideas to showcase all of our wonderful products for this Holiday Season. You can show us how you plan on wrapping your gifts, what you plan on making for your gifts and/or how you want to address your gifts for all your Gift Giving this Holiday Season.

I think this is going to be a great way to start some fabulous Christmas gifts!

So I had seen a fun tutorial on Splitcoast for a Match Box Candy holder...........

I used that idea and ran with it.  I only really used the idea, cause it did not really turn out the size of the original, I also redesigned the inside. My thought was to create a Matchbox GIFT CARD holder that would also have a litte card inside.

Tomorow I am going to take it one step further and make a pretty little box for it, cause my friend Penny showed me how she did one and I think that will the perfect way to package this little gift card holder.

Kay, I started with one of favorite papers of this season!

Stampin Up has some really nice designer paper this year.  I love the feel of the velvet on the Christmas Cocoa paper! I started with this size

 
I originally tried what the tutorial said,

So the tutorial had a single pocket - but because I wanted to have one slot for the gift card and one slot for the little card, I redid to create 2 pockets instead!

this is going to work much better

This is the right idea buuuuuuuuuuuttttt........... this is way too small

so I redid it one more time he he :)

I decided to start with a piece of card stock cut to: 11.25'' x 3.5''

which made my match box size 5.25'' x 3.25'' - perfect for the gift card.

this is coming along nicely

 I used a lot of sticky tape for this project - this tape is really really strong - it's the the Stampin Up Idea Book on Page 192 - It's double sided extra tacky strip and it works so great!

After I inserted the two brad on the front I put more Tacky Stips!

this is a side view - hope this is kinda making sense - I was trying to condense it cause I had like 30 photos - yhikes uh??

but like I said I willing to share all the dimention and do a tutorial - if you would like??? - Please just let me know in your comment if it is something you would be interested in having here- I don't want to bore anyone with the details if it's something you are just not interested in - you know what I mean??

I am working n the outside panel - coloured the stamps and punched out the greeting - then cut out the little flowers

 now I am working on the inside.  I used my Big Shot - no really I did LOL :)
for the ovals - the smaller ovals were punched with the  Stampin Up Oval Punch on Page 186 - it's the Wide Oval Punch.

here it is my final little project - I think this would be a unique way to give a gift card - what do you think??

Good Morning my bloggin friends!

I am a little later then I was hoping for! No No I did not sleep in - silly! lol :)

oh you know how it goes when I create a card - oh yha it takes me FOREVER! Soooooo this card is no different.

Okay so let me start by saying that this card I actually started on Thursday! I know CRAZY - Just had so many things happen around here as you know that it just took me some time to finish it.

having said that.... firstly I want to say that this card was inspired by my 10 min Challenge partner, yhap you guessed it, my friend Sandi, if you want to see her card, just Click here !

secondly - since I had started this card on Thursday morning I was going with Makeesha card sketch, but because I didn't get it finished in time, I changed the lay out to meet the Stamping 411 sketch for this week! I also used Krista colour challenge, so here are the details of those two challenges and then we can go on to my card - shoud I say my work of art he he - feels like that cause it took so long - not that it LOOKS like that LOL :)

So this is the sketch for this week.

I quite like this look and was able to make it work with my Easel Card.

Oh yha I also wanted to say that I will have a complete tutorial tomorrow on this card.

I created it to post yesterday, but - well you know all about yestersay! With all the changes that this card took, I thought that this post would be too long - so actually it will give me the oppertunity to type up the tutorial and I can post it in the morning.

now for the colour challenge

okey dokey we are ready to start!

remember this is the sketch I started with - but it's not what I ended up with LOL :)

So this is a really condensed version of what I did - cause like I said I changed my mind like 3 times, so anyways, I used my Fabulous CIRCLE SCISSOR PLUS tool to make the layered circles.  I tell you I am just not sure what I would do without this handy little toy - it makes circles so nice and easy!

 Now this is the part I kept trying something new.

What I did in the end was............

I stamped the trees in craft ink - I clear embossed them. Then cut them out. I put our beautiful shimmery ALL-PURPOSE INK  FROST WHITE- this my friend made the trees super beautiful filled with shimmer, I layed each tree on Very Vanilla card stock as well.

oh and I wipped off excess with a baby wipe - then I did my little magic pearls - you know the crystal effects and covered them with the shimmery paint

I used my fun folder to emboss these wonderful flowers - ofcourse used my BIG SHOT - cause you know it I love my BIG SHOT -Added MORE SHIMMER!

and did the same little magic on the center of the flowers with the crystal effects

coming along right - now this is with the Stamping 411 sketch -

oh goodness.................... WHAT a mess - okay I cannot go any further till this is cleaned up I can't focus!

I adhered the front part of my Easel card with Sticky tape - cause I really really wanted to adhere this part really good, and this tape is fabulous for that - cause it's REALLY STRONG

I still have to decorate the bottom part - he he told you this took FOREVER! so sorry

yhe can you beleive I am almost done - good gollie miss mollie - that took forever

well whow there we have it! My goodness that took a long time I hope you find that it was all worth your patiences - ouh I have a side vew as well

 one last photo of the card closed and I am done!

 

Well there we have it - yhahooooooooooo - can you tell I am so happy to have this card completed. 

 Now I am off to get ready, cause Rex and I get to go pick up Max this afternoon, well I hope so anyways, as long as he can be weaned off the Morphine drip.  I phoned them at 4:00am and he had a pretty good night!

fingers and toes crossed and God willing our Max will be home with our family by supper time!
