The Open Sea slider FREE tutorial

Good day my friends

well it's Tuesday two more days till GRAD -

I am hoping everything will fall together he he

okay so I know I am super late with this post but

you know what they say better late then never he he

I want to show you the card first just so you are not confused

 

okay so I started with the new stamp set called open sea and the new DSP

from the Stampin Up Summer Mini Catalogue

 
start with a piece of DSP

Cut to 4 1/2 x 6

then cut slit as indicated above

 
then cut a pice of card stock to

6 3/4'' x 10 13/16''

then score at

4 3/4'' and 9 5/8''

 
now adhere the front DSP like this

 
use your knife and cut thru your cardstock

in the same cut lines that you created in the DSP

saves you from having to remeasure he he

 
now to create the insert please

cut a piece of card stock to

 5 3/4'' x 4 3/8''

 
now for the slider piece 

cut a piece of cardstock ( I used very vanilla here )

2 1/4'' x 4 1/4''

 
see how that piece of very vanilla card stock will fit in

 
and this is how it goes in 

on the inside

 
the insert piece will be adhered after

 

this piece will be used to put a couple of greetings on

as you slide the piece in the front from one side to the other

it will display two different greetings

cut this piece of card stock to 

2'' x 4'' I used very vanilla on this piece

 
I stamped both the DSP and the very vanilla piece here with the stamps in this wonderful set

 
ready to adhere this piece

it's going in between your cut lines

I used sticky strip

 
so once your piece is adhere you will put that piece of very vanilla slider insert thru

and you can see that I will put the ship on top of this after

 
you will put sticky strips on the back of that slider piece

to adhere your insert

 
like so - this is what the inside looks like

 
and now the outside front

making sense??

gheesh I hope so lol

 
now I will decorate the front panel and put the ship on

 
I stamped the ship and cut it out

 
then I embossed the greeting for the inside slider

 
now for some last details

I put a really nice eyelet and you can se the greeting that I embossed too

 

 
now to adhere the card togehter

I ran three pieces of sticky strip

don't want it to fall apart he he

 
there we go the closed version

I also used some nice satin ribbon for the little slider tab
