Lovely as a Tree to finish off the card created with the salt technique

Morning y`hall

I have busy day ahead of me so this will be pretty short and sweet he he

tomorrow I will have my recipe sorry it`s going to be on Thursday instead of Wed.

but I promised to show you what I did with the finished salt background

and I know I said I was going to share the photos of my Friday install

I put that along with my recipe tomorrow

hope you are not trying to keep track of the things I am doing on what days cause I have totally mess this up

lol

all right let`s get get started with the salt background card that I made for Darrell

 
so I wasn`t really sure how I was going to make this happen

but this is where I went

I used window sheet and stamped the beautiful

lovely as a tree stamp

with black staz on

 
and I then I put it over the salt background

 
and then I layed it on black but I thought it needed a frame

and so I made one with black card stack

 
I raised the basic black cardstocke with dimentionals

 
then it`s to finalize the card with some layers

hum more mustard may not be it

 
hum maybe uh!!!

 
all right I think I got it

but it needs more

I don`t want ribbon

I don`t want brads

hum seigh

 
voila I added the greeting right on the window sheet

I was really nervous doing this after the card was all together

I would not suggest you do that lol

Birthday card - manly for Darrell with Lovely as a tree, French Foliage and Leaf Lines from Stampin Up!

oh my goodness - happened again

I was done my post and typepad crashed - for some reason it don't auto save anymore and so I have to start over!

anyways onto what I did this morning

I made a card for our special friend Darrell - I really hope he likes it!

 
got my stamp sets out and ready to make a card

 
I used the Stampin Up Woodgrain background stamp

I stamed with Always artichoke on very vanilla

other inks that I used

Cajun Craze, More Mustard and Crumb Cake

 
I stamped all the leaves!

 
now alot of ditressing happenned on this card

you see Darrell loves distressed cards

so ofcourse I had to go over the top with this one

 
I stamped the trees with Black Staz On on Very Vanilla

and then I used my Stampin Up Chalks

love'm!

 
I used a greeting but I moved it from the botoom

this is what the card ended up looking like

I sure do hope he likes it!

 
and voila

I finished the inside as well

well this weekend is usually the get away weekend for Renee and I

but with the misfortune that has gone down with my business we could not do a trip

but we will still do something special that day since she has the day off

soooooooooo the office will be closed and I will enjoy my day with my daughter!

sooooooo only three more days of work and a long weekend here in Canada!

Ten min Challenge Lesley's Colour Challenge

 
Hello Everyone

oh my goodness wait till you see what I played with this morning

but first let me give the scoop

first it's Lesley turn to come up with our challenge - It's a colour challenge

she did such a wonderful job of creating these colours!

and Nancy put them in these beautiful little flowers

what a great team we have I am so proud of them!

ouh and I have another little bit of news

sadly my sis is away this weekend - I know we will miss her but she is putting on a huge event!

I am happy for her!

But we will miss her uh??

okay so today I tried a new technique

it was on splitcoast but it did not use Stampin Up Product

sooooooooooooooo oh yha what did I do??? I did it with

ALL STAMPIN UP product

and then I went further and I invented a brand new technique using some of the same products but some of other ones

and I am really think that I may hold out on this one just show you the photo and actually play with this idea for some of my convention swaps - wouldn't that be so cool???
okay so the technique was called

 Encaustic

but I did the Carole'Anne way he he :-)

Supplies I used

oh I want to say that I had lot's of trial and errors here before I decided exactly how I would do this

okay supplies

WATER COLOUR CRAYONS

WHITE GLOSSY CARD STOCK

AN IRON (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE STEAM OFF)

ALOT OF BABY WIPES (HE HE )

SCRAP PAPER

A DOSE OF PATIENCES WOULD ALSO BE GOOD

TOOK ME 3 HOURS TO MASTER IT HE HE 

 

so my first step 

is that I took my iron right on top of my glossy cardstock

I am heating up my cardstock

 

this is a  better photo of how I heated up the glossy card stock

okay now get make sure before you start this part 

you have your water colour crayons ready to draw on you hot glossy cardstock

 

I started with colur with my crayons

 

then add a little white crayon right only your iron

 

now go hard he he

just sweep your hot iron right over your coloured card stock

 

make sure to wipe up your iron

I have an iron specifically for crafting and it never leaves my craft room

 

I used my hot iron

and used the tip to make grass marks

 

looks soooooooooooooo cool uh?

now I am going to use the good old trusty stamp set

The set is Called

Lovely as a Tree

its such a wonderful set

 

then I used Black Craft ink and I stamped the tree

and then ouh yes I pushed the limits

yes ME push the limits 

(see I tried with staz on it was not dark enough - and craft ink don't dry well)

so yha I embossed it

lol

 

and it worked

yhe

then I cut these in half

 

well I am not doing too bad for tine and now I just need some card stock and a greeting

 

oh yes and I added a few little birds I just drew them in with my black stampin marker

 

now for my greeting

 

now I am ready to adhere and add brads

but you know that Madame Vilaine is about to win right?

 

okay I am almost done

phew what a long post

I am having issues with posting photos today I am not sure if its typepad 

but each photo is taking anywhere from 10 to 12 min

I have been hard at it since 5:45

but the good news is that I am almost done posting

and then you can go visit our fabulous Design Team

Tote-ally Tess and a side step card

Good Saturday mornin everyone!

soooooooo this morning I tried my hand at a side step card!

I did two challenges into one for this card

the first ofcourse is the LNS #50 non traditional colour challenge

the second is Stamps & Smiles "Project Tuesday"

The Challenge was to create a side-step card!

Okay I don't think I succeeded 100% - but I will try again tomorrow complete witha tutorial for you!

so started with the challene and alot of stamp sets

only took me three tries!

Then I chose all my stamp- used Tote-ally Tess - cause you know you could win her she is

THE BLOG CANDY!

Also going to use lovely as a tree and serene snow flakes

now for some card stock

I used Ruby Red - Burmuda Bay and Whisper White

so I tried bleaching the tree - yha I didn't like it 

so I embossed them instead

she is coming along nicely I think??

I coloured my ribbon with my Bermuda bay maker 

 
I used my stamp pads, some shimmer paint and my aqua painter to colour!

then I used some Crystal effects   

now I am ready to dress up Tess! yhahoo sooo much fun! :)

so Tess is sporting a nice pair of Bermuda Bay Trouser with a beautiful Rose Red Blouse.

  Pretty little pearl accents on the blouse really set it off very nicely he he :)

Voila here is my first ever Side Step Card

now I am not 100% happy with it

I am recreating this technique tomorrow for you complete with a tutorial!

ouh yes I have a couple more photos for you

the lovely trees - embossed and glittered

up close of the pretty ribbon that I colooured and the wood flower -

this was left over from my card that I made yesterday - I put few little pearls in the middle
