Good Sunday morning to all my supportive blogging friends!
First I would like to announce that Max is HOME! He is doing pretty good, a long recovery awaits him. He is kinda grumpy too, I don't think he is enjoying the drain tubes, and the pain is not making him so happy. He is content though to be home with us. His mama and papa were happy that him back in our bed last night. I want to thank you so so very much for the prayers and well wishes. It has meant alot to us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
You know Sunday mornimgs are fabulous to me right? Okay so what did do this morning? As promised I have a little tutorial for you on the easel card. Now what I did is make it a standard card size. You will see, just thought this would be easier to mail cause you could use a regular Stampin Up enveloppe.
so I started with two challenges.
I always like to do Gretchen's challenges, so that is my first one...............

the second is this fabulous colour challenge from Paper Pals

ready to start
well do you think I used these stamps in the end? LOL I did use one of them he he! :)
my first attempt was - embossing with versa mark and clear embossing them. I then used my Stampin Up Colour Spritzer Tool (page 192) which worked really good - but it wasnt the look I was seeking.............. back to trying something new.
I decided to go with Whisper White Craft ink - and white embossing powder - onto shimmery white cardstock and that prooved to be successful!
then I sponged the taken with teal on the shimmery white - after the sponging, I wipe off the embossed areas with a baby wipe
Aint it just soooooooooo Pretty! Well I think it is anyways! he he
so now I am going to show you how created the card base
Start with a piece of card stock Cut To 4.25'' x 11''
now we are going to make to score line - EASY PEASY uh?
the easiest for me is score in half of the 11'' which is 5.5''. (5 1/2'')
Then Score the one right piece and half again, (of the 5.5'') which is 2.75'' ( 2 3/4'')
here is the diagram,
make sense?
now you will cut a front panel to attache to the this base. The card front panel will measure 4.25'' x 5.5''
oh yha I also made the ribbon ruby red with my Stampin Write marker - with our beautiful White Satin 5/8'' Ribbon from Stampin Up(page 183) its easy to turn that into any colour. I sure do use this trick alot - cause it just works so nicely!
I alway wipe my ribbon after with a baby wipe, it just blends the colour in the ribbon really well!
aint it just so awesome!?? so much fun! I love the way things are working on this card. Just a blast - I know I am crazy! Hey I love to rejoice in the little things y'a know?
I had die cut my snow flakes with my Big Shot - you all know how much I love my BIG SHOT lol
then I thought they were just a little too big, so trimmed the him a little - just gave him a little hair cut LOL :)
just working on the inside now. Did the same thing as I did on the outside with the white embossed and sponged.............
this is the front of my Easel Card, in a Closed position - I added a couple of Ruby Red Brads in the center of trimmed snowflakes!
This is my Easel Card open- in the Easel position!
I am so pleased with it. I don't know if it's the colours or the technique - but it's got a classic feel to it - like elegant, you know??? ( I am just happy I guess this morning - please don't laugh too hard at my sillyness)
and this is the Easel card completly opened so you can see the inside panel completed.
I have one more photo for you -
this is just to shor you how pretty the colour and the embossing turned out and you can see a little peace of the ribbon and my snow flake - you know the one that got the hair cut LOL
Well that is it for my card.
oops I left out the photo - good thing I went over my post - okay so one mor photo of the side view he he :)
But I have one more photo to share with you all - It's Max - Okay so he has a little body sock on over his insicisions as he refused to wear his head cone, he is the Boss you know.
