My last card created with Easter Blossoms

It's Saturday and today I will be enjoying my daughter's Cheer competition in LA!

but first I have share what I did for my last card

I did a bit more scientific work with a dryer sheet!

 
Remember what I had done with this back on Tuesday morning

well I did not want to waste it

 
so back to a little science

I thought I would dry to put versa mark all over

then lay the dryer sheet over

 
and put clear embossing powder all over the image he he

 
then heat set it

CRAZY uh? lol

 
okay it's cool

don't like the shape still

so got to do something about that

 

so fixed that

I also stamped the little girl and cut her out

hum now what to do??

 

okay more thinking going on lol

 
not too bad

but I am not sure yet about the little flowers??

 
still don't think this is cutting it lol

 
okay so I added two more lol

 
I want to show you all three cards now

although they are all the same stamp and same colours

they all look so different

if you only knew how much I struggled with these

I am not sure why but I did

Eastern influences on to Candles - created set with card

Good Tuesday Morning!!

 

Today I wanted to post what I started on Sunday!

 

I created some pretty candles to go with my Eastern Influence card!

I want to share with you what I learned from a couple of members of our LNS team.

Melissa and Stephanie are the original idea givers for this fabulous technique.

I love feed off these wonderful ladies.

so Melissa created a vidoe if you would like to see I will have her link at the end of my post

 

 

Ofcourse you know me, and I am not a good CASER! he he

So I kept thinking what could I do with these two wonferful ideas???

Decided that I would use the same technique but just put a little twist on it

I started with the White Tissue paper (this is important - if your candle is white - you tissue has to be white - if your candle is off white then you should have off white tissue - you get it right?)

 

I stamped Black Craft ink and then embossed the cherry blossoms

Right on my tissue paper

 

After I embossed the blossoms I coloured in some selected little flowers and I also added a little silver with a paint brush.

 

This is so prettry - then I cut out all of these branches - REALLY close and neatly -

I used a little tiny amount of Snail to adhere them to my candle -

 just to help me keep them where I wanted them.

then I got the Wax Paper!

 

I wrapped my candle all the way around - and enough for me to be able to hold the Wax paper like

a handle this will keep your hands from burning

- 

Then I heated up ( the areas with Tissue paper) with my heat gun (sorry I didn't have a photo with the blossoms) Can you tell I had lot's of trial and error with this technique -

 yhap I am way way to much of a perfectionist

okay now we are heating 

 

DO NOT OVER HEAT - you just want the wax paper to start look shinny and it's done

yha I over heated about 2 or 3 candles before I got the hang of it! LOL

 

then just remove the wax paper and Voila you have embossed & coloured candles - now I have a cute little box that the candles came in - I wanted to cover it!

I used Melon Mambo to match my card

I cut my paper and scored it - so I could wrap it around the box

 

I wrap all four sides of the box and adhered it really well with my sticky tape

 

I cut out the base and also an inside piece so that I could not see any seems!

Adhered that as well -

now to decorate!

 

Added some Black Brads - I did the same to my candles and they are real easy to do - you just stick them right into the wax and they go in real smoothly!

oh so pretty!

 

added a pretty white ribbon - love this ribbon- 

It's in the Stampin Up Idea Book on page 183 - It's Called Organza Ribbon - good thing I got to just type that name - cause guess what ??? I can't pronounce it HE HE :)
Oh and the Brads are on page 179 - the black ones come in the Vintage package!

 

and there we have it - doesn't it just  look so pretty??

 

Voila this is a nice gift set, don'tyou think??

One thing that I was asked was to give the size of my finished card!

So this card was a standard card size finished - Which is 5.5'' x 4.25''

Eastern Influences & Baroque Motifs

Good Sunday Morning!

Whow what a wonderful morning I have had! First it's Sunday I LOVE Sunday's - second I have been stamping and playing in my craft room since 2:45am!!! Now I need to post this card and then meet a customer! Ouh I guess I did do a few household duties including getting my beautiful roast ready! Okay enough chit chat - so I was so intrigued my Makeeshas's inspiration Challenge #15 that I just had to play along - then I seen the Stampin 411 challenge, and well I decided to put those two together!

And now for the Stamping 411 Challenge

 

 

What do you think I did with these two Fabulous

challenges -?

I had alot of Fun Fun Fun!

oh yha!

So my colours ofcouse had to include Black and Silver, then I was at a loss at the beginning -

I have a bad habit of changing my mind

ALOT along the way - ever noticed ??? LOL

Okay, so here's where I started!

 

I decided to add my FAVORITE colour: 
Melon Mambo

So I started with some squares - had no clue what and where the colours were going to go - but you know how it is - it works out

So then I proceeded with TRYING to stamp some branches with my Black Craft ink - cause I wanted to emboss them - noticed I said trying

 

okay so not where I wanted them - so I used a  little trick that I made up a while back - I trace the area on a  scrap piece (not peace MOM LOL ) of paper - okay 

then I stamp in that area intead of wasting card stock(took me three tries here), once I have desired location then I take my cardstock and actually stamp it on there -

take a booh

 

now I have wasted no card stock - he he

and I am ready to stamp and emboss - 

(used Black Embossing Powder - page 188 in the Stampin Up Idea Book)

 

then I decided to bleach the branches sto that some had no colour and some I will colour with the Melon Mambo Stampin Write Marker - oh my don't you love that we have in colour MARKER?!

 kinda a cool cause it turned pink (the bleaching) - so close to pink pirouette - so yha I used a retired paper - but it's was my fav.  from last year and I have to say that I just LOVED using it - take a look and see what you think??

okay I have to admit that this card is turning out to be one of my most fun card that I have made in a LONG time

 Assembly time - I used glue dots and dimentionals - to raise the images.

 I ALWAYS forget to show you the inside of my cards for some reason - so today is special - cause I am sharing he he :)

I used Silver It's Called Encore Pad it's awesome it's Metallic its in the Stampin Up Idea book on Page 190 - you don't need to emboss it or nothing - BUT do let it DRY - cause it will need the time to dry - otherwise it will SMUDGE - and you won't be happy - trust me I am familiar with that LOL :)

I  wanted

to show how beautiful the colours are up close and the ribbon is just so nice as well! So hard to capture in a photo - cause I think is SUPER pretty in real life, bu the photo doesn't really do it justice sorry!

Estern influences into challenges on Sunday morning

Good morning!

Hope you are all well on this rainy Sunday morning! Perfect day for card making!

soooooooooo let me tell you............ I had no intention of doing another challenge this weekend, as  I should be finishing my swap cards........... But then something happened!

My co-worker and friend Liane Peden, kinda challenged each other to Makeesha's Inpiration challenge!

Ofcourse I HAD to make a challenge card then, right? LOL!

Earlier in the week, I wanted to do the Diva Coffee Break Design challenge, and had kinda fergotten about it.............. So!!! Guess what I did, just take a guess!!!  lol :)

yes I sure did - two challenges into one! he he ..............

take a look at these two challenges..............

So I started with the Red and White theme and I picked a stamp..........

you won't beleive it! But I did stick with this stamp! I know what shock uh?  He He :)

I chose Eastern influences for my stamp!

I stamped in black staz on!

 

soooooooooo I am so sorry about this photo!

I am really having a hard time uploading my photos to Type Pad this morning!

I have been trying to up load this new post since 5:45am, its now 8:32am, and I have two photos............

I am going to try to do a medium sized photo - the first is the full size and the one above is small and looks horrible!

so I am sorry!!!!

 

 
Yhe! I think we got it, soooooo I am back on track.....

there is a photo missing in between, but considering the way this is going, I guess, we are going to be missing a photo LOL:)
I coloured with my water colour pencils and used my blender pen, I added some deeper red with my Stampin' write real red marker

on the tip of the flowers I added some "Frost White" All-Purpose ink!

okay maybe I spoke to soon!

oh my goodness.............

it's 9:00am and I have what 3 photos in this post! yhikes! 

 
I am sorry that the photos are so small, this was the only way I could make this work today
