Asian Artistry Note book with Sketch week 9

Hello everyone

hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

It's Monday which means we are starting a new week!

The week for me always starts with a new challenge from Late night stampers! As designer for that team, I make at least 3 samples for the weeks challenge

This week we have 3 D items!

and that brings me to the other little commitment I have!

I also help with the Stampin Connect Card Sketch!

Each each one of us creates a sketch and we are to make a card with that sketch

this week it's Alex sketch.

so I used this sketch for the front of my 3D

my item that I chose to do today is a little note book

I also chose to do an Asian theme

I will fill you in tomorrow as to why I chose this theme I have a special post tomorow that I want to share with y'all!(he he don't yha love my pretend southern accent he he  - I can't wait to talk to those southern belles at convention)

look asian uh? lol

just kidding

I used black textured card stock  I adhered everything with sticky tape

 
I did the back the same way

I did the inside panel

then as I was doing the back piece I got to thinking that I should have a ribbon you know how books have a ribbon as a book mark 

so I did a big eyelet with my crop a dile

then ran my red satin ribbon thru the eyelet

It's Stampin Up 5/8'' Satin ribbon   

I put the ribbon on the back of the book and covered up the seem on the back

cool uh?

voila

now for the really neat background that I made

my first try was a bit FAT FAIL

But hey I never gave up I am going to show you

I started with White Glossy card stock

and some craft ink

this looks like an abstract designer painting LOL

ouh yhuk I guess using my Bone Folder WAS NOT GOOD IDEA

don't try this at home he he :)

so went away from the white glossy and decided to try Gold metallic instead

and a sponge

ouh la la I like it way way better don't YOU?

This you can try at home LOL
sorry I know I am such a nut he he

I added more red wtih the craft ink

so the colours I used here

Gold - Black and Red all CRAFT ink

after I had the background to where I like it 

I used my stamp to create a negative image

so I am taking away ink instead of putting it on 

make sense?

now I am happy

let's do the rest of this book now!

I am going to layer onto my book now

Yha I am can you beleive 

ME LAYER lol

I first tried on the gold

and I black embossed it - but I didn't like it so much

the red is much better

I layered my focal point

I punched a circle for the greeting and then I created a fan

with the gold embossed piece of cardstock that I did not use

cool uh?

 

 I wrap a piece of black ribbon on the bottom of my little fan

and then I thought it was too wide so I cut it

and then I did something kinda silly

I used that little piece that I cut off for an accent

and I just added Crystal Effects to it

kinda weird I know he he

but why not right?? 

there we have it

but this is not done

you got to come back tomorrow I want to show you something else I am going to do on this!

Black Magic and a Hinged card

hello to you my blogging friends

I had a great morning of creating!

I tried two news things that I have never done

the first was called Black Magic & I put that together with a Hinged Card!

I used two challenges for this!

The first was a colour challenge from

Picture Perfect

 

the second was from

Project Tuesday

it's called a HINGED CARD!

okay so let me get started

the first step to making the black magic is to stamp White Craft Ink on Black

LET IT DRY!

as you can see a did a fair about of trial and error

the next step is suppose to be using metallic pencil crayons

okay I did try this

okay so at this point I am sure not pleased with the look of this

so I thought okay let me try blending this with my aqua painter with shimmer paint

so then attempted to blend this colouring

so I am not really super happy with this look

soooooooooooooo

I decided to try some water colour crayon

and that maybe thats the key

  okay so seems to have blended better

now I am done with colouring I am going put this card together

this is where the hinged part comes in

I will do a COMPLETE TUTORIAL ON THIS

ON SATURDAY

it's not too bad rigth?

now for a greeting

and this is not it

I think this is going to be real cute

now to colour this as well

thats coning along nicely

no to create the hinge

I punched a hole with my Crop-a-dile

inserted my brad and look how cool this is

now let's assemble this

looking good uh?

I actually don't mind the colours

I love these challenges 

they make me really think outside the box and I think it's so neat

I know I get excited over the little things in life

but you know what I am just happy to get to create each day and most of all share these creations good or bad with y'all

then I just had to do a bit more creating

I used this little dots from punching that scrallop edge to do this 

he he :)

I added them to make it look like little berries

then I added Crystal Effects over tope

neato uh?

I wish I would of edged the white  a bit

I may still do that but I was running out of time 

ofcourse it's a work day he he :)

Dream Garden with Vintage Vogue

Good Day y'all!

It's Saturday I beleive I am going to get to play catch up, on some of my design team commitments and my swaps today!

Cause you guessed it I have the day off! I know it's Saturday and I am actually take the take off!  I want to play in my craft room.  That is in between doing laundry and doing some cooking and oh yes got to clean that nasty fridge LOL :-)

okay so onto why you are really here.............. not to listen to me ramble on lol

so today I tried my hand at a new challenge, and combined two challenges into one - Fun, uh???

I found this really cool color challenge......... you see I always miss the retired colours and this challenge had almost all of them!

oh yha just had to work with this one take a look!

aint it cool - and then I combined with the the Just Add Ink sketch

 

so now I am ready to rock and roll!

I have my retired card stock and my sketch

created several circles with my circle cutter I love this tool just about as much as my Big Shot

ouh and NO Big Shot action today, can you beleive it??

did layers

then started on my sketch

I used our new FREE Sale-bration Punch

fun uh??

I used the new Vintage wheel from the new

Stampin Up Occasion Mini catalogue

with the Kiwi Kiss

 
starting to see how the sketch is coming togehter 

now for stamps

I have used the Dream Gardens for while

so I used her, and I used the Vintage Vogue leaves only

I used a dark grey Staz on for the Grey colour that was required to be used

but it kinda looks black

but it's not he he

   stamped the image

then I edged my circle with a dabber and some shimmer paint - then I stamped the leaves in Kiwi kiss

I used the Baja Blue to edge this

so now I need to work on that white piece cause it was just way too white

I am just loving the look

after I put the white ribbon but it's a bit stark

so let me add a little tie in Kiwi Kiss

sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

ouh I have to share a new way to colour ribbon

so my friend Julie came to my class last Sunday and she was telling me that she colours her ribbon with a makeup sponge and so get this

she sent me some in the mail - ain't that just so sweet!

I still wiped it with a baby wipe cause I wanted it to look really blended

holly what a mess

I made a little tag and punched an eyelet with my Crop-a-dile

oh yha another one of my Stampin Fav. Tools!

so I did something with my ribbon that I have never done before

I tied that Kiwi Kiss ribbon and I punched a hole in the center with my

Crop-a-dile (speaking of that tool he he)

then you will never beleive what I did??

then I put a cordoroy button in the center where I put the whole

then I put a glue dot

and if you look in the background all's good right, everything looks pretty on my card right

okay just remember this moment

I am going to show you the inside and then show you what happened

I am such a Rosa - have I ever mentioned this to you before???

good golly miss molly lol

I should have a section just for my Rosa moves - so if you need a good laugh you could just go to that section lol

I got to do the inside yahoooooooo

so I eneded up with a big blue ink spot and then I tried to wipe it

and tried to put Kiwi Kiss ink on it

this is not good

Now I am done and I have to REDO my piece

Can you beleive it????

I am so upset - but oh well

anyways that is my card today

okay so some of you didn't know that we actually had to doggies

one big and one small

our big Dog is Goldie

a quick Goldie story

she was a stray she came by one day about 6 years ago and she never left - and no one ever claimed her - we even phoned SPCA to see if anyone reported her missing, but no.  We think she was badly abbused when she came to us.  She was so timid and was so scared of men and anytime anyone lifted their hands around her she was so terrified............ Poor thing.  She has turned out to be a marvelous dog.  I also found out today that she hates getting her picture taken.  I usually take her pictures when we are camping and she does not know I am taking it, but today when I tried to take her phot she was not happy and I even gave her a treat.  Soooo this is the best photo I can offer you of Goldie for now, and I even tried when she was sleepin but as soon as I turned the lights on and she seen the camera she ran away. 

anyways here is our Goldie with Max all clean he he :)

she is much bigger then Max he he :)

But they love each other

ouwhy look at me!

Max is so clean a so fluffy look at his little paws LOL
