Good morning everyone - okay don't think I have gone crazy - well actually haven't gone anywhere!
I am CRAZY he he :)
all kidding aside - LNS Challenge #46 this week is all about your favorite holiday!
so I decided that I would do another holiday today for you!
It's Valentines day, and I will explain real quick why Valentines day is dear to my heart,
it's not for me, and not for gifts!
This little story is more about my Mom and Dad.
soooooooooooo My Dad (Bless his heart - I miss him every day - he passed away in Dec. 2001)
anyways, he used to buy my Mom -these big beautiful Roses, Mom correct me if I am wrong
but I beleive they were called "American Beauties"???
He would always make sure that my mom had her dozen of the American Beauties, Red Roses;
even when he was out of town.
He was such a special man, but in one of those last years that he was able to communicate with us, he wasnt able to get around on his own, and I remember him calling me, and asking me to get Mom her roses "ma Fouine, oublie pas" he had said to me!
It was so special and I still remember the compassion in his voice! Mom got her roses, but I think this was one of the last ones that were truly from my dad.
Sooooooooooooooooo in honor of my dad I will have two cards for you.
The first one will be posted today and the second tomorrow along side of Sandi and I's ten minute card!
okay I made a CUTSY card - yha I know! But I thought this would lighten the mood he he :)
tomorrows card will be more my non cutsy style!
I actually was able to use two challenges for this one!
The first is the SPCC

Click: HERE! If you want to play along!
my second challenge is the Cards & Things Challenge
and you can CLICK HERE if you want to try this challengeokay so where was I
oh yha chose my stamp set
I just got this set and really wanted to use it, I assembled it, and I have to tell you I SURE DO LOVE that Stampin Up now has most of their stamp set's are die cut, so fabulous
I stamped the "Roo" with Staz On
Then I coloured him with my Watercolour Pencils hum I should name him! he he :)
let's call him Rusty the Roo! LOL
What I do is:
"I don't colour the entire areas!"
I just shade and blend around the edges of Rusty the Roo
so that is one of my tricks!
the Big Shot was in Action this morning!
I used my Scallop Square - but I kept putting my card stock back in to make a rectangle instead
okay more Big Shot moment!
then I used my New Naturally Sarif Decorative Stip Die!
something in his pouch!
After my friend and co-worker Liane told me about this Tombo Multi purpose glue I have beem really enjoying using it! It works great for things like these letters. I used my Stylus to apply it to the back of each letters. Thank you Liane you are awesome!
now for a ribbon and some Crystal effects
and well there we have it!
the final card size is 4 1/4'' x 5 1/2''
Ribbon is Bashful Blue and the Brads are soft subtle.
I used the Sanded Background stamp on the bottom to go along with the Cards and Things Challenge!
hope you like my little my cutsy card -got to make some of those sometimes right??
Even if it's out of my element!
So two things to keep in mind
blog candy - (when you leave a comment your name will be entered in the draw)
We will choose a winning card for the 10 min card challenge tomorrow - but you still have a few more hours to play along this week.
so until tomorrow - wish me luck with my 10 card challenge with my friend Sandi!
Wishing you all a wonderful Wed.
