Stampin Stresss Away with Carole'Anne

A 3D Christmas Tree that I created with Stampin Up Glitter paper

Good day Friends

I have a cute little tree to share with you all on This fine Thursday Morning

I wanted to photograph my christmas cards with a little tree

and I seen one in the stores last Friday

but I thought hum for $50 buck I can make that

my frist step was to colour some giltter paper

I used alcohol - shimmer paint and reinker

sprayed it and turned it green

then I created a cone with cardstock

and then I use a die from Stampin Up

but it`s secret

can you guess which one I used!!!!

I created a lot of layers and came up with a shimmery tree

cut uh- dont you think

I also used some of the silver glitter paper

I added a little simple adorn jewel for the top of the tree

there we have it

my glittery tree

you will see it tomorrow in my photograph - from the Christmas countdown as well

it looks nice next to a card

all rigth so that`s going to be all for today

A 3D box Created for a special friend

hello friends

sorry for not posting yesterday - I had a pretty ruff Sunday and I needed to just rest up

so I am here today with bells on!

I recreated a really cool box

This is the Christmas Keepsake Box

but I turned into a Birthday Keepsake Box for my Friend Jan

(whos birthday was in October - my bad)

anyways we finally got together on Friday and I created this little box for her

so I started with the box kit

but like I said I changed it up

I used Cherry Cobbler and Black Cardstock

then I used some wonderful DSP

then a top note cut out and a some fabulous ribbon to match

now for the decorating details

I used the circle scallop punch and punched several circles from the DSP

I also made a pretty bow

then a little stampin and few roses and a box was created

voila this is the little keepsake box I created for Jan

it's vintage uh?

I think she liked it

I enjoyed making it - I have been less then creative lately so it was really fun to make soemthing like this and feel success

It's halloween Wreath - happy halloween

Good morning friends

Happy Halloween to you all who are fans!

I am not like a huge fan of Halloween - however I will admit that having Kathy's group yesterday made me a bit more of a fan

they are so funny and we had a great class

and oh wait till you see what Dar brought me

OMGOSH

she is so kind to do this

look at this yhummy cake (OH and it was delicious)

now I know I have not really posted much for Halloween

so friends this is my post for YOU

so I started with some Halloween scary DSP

 

 

and I made several medallions

now it was suppose to be a little wreath

I am not sure why I could not just put a few medallions

but anyways it did not end up so little

 

 

and look at the little bats I punched out

and this is what my wreath ended up like

I used the wonderful 1 1/4'' ribbon for the bow

and I put many many buttons on this wreath

a bit of a side view

that it for me friends on this fine Monday Mornings

I am all ready behind today

I was up at 2:00am to finish this wreath but just posting it now

yhikes I should all ready be at work at this time lol

Medallion Wreath completed - and a tribute to my Dad (Rosaire "Bob" Methot) today

Good day to you all

I want to thank you ever so much for your kind comments yesterday

- you all warm my heart

and I thank you for that!

so today it a two fold Blog Post

I want to start with sharing a project that I finally finished

It's my Medallion Wreath

this is the one I started with my class on Sunday(last weekend)

lol

I am really happy with this and I have so many medallions on there that I cannot even count them all lol

and the second part of this blog post today will be a tribute to my dad

You see On Thursday is would of been my dad's Birthday

My dad was Born on October 27, 1937

for my loyal followers you all know by now how much my family means to me

and how much I love them -

My parents have had a huge positive influence on my success'

you see I am one of those rare people who can truly say that I had a GREAT childhood

and I think that's why I miss my dad

(and my baby brother and my grandma) that much more

so last nigth I dropped in at my moms and she handed me a huge bin of photos

(thank you Mom - you have know idea how much I treasure these photos)

oh boy did I have fun going thru them

Renee, Kayla and I had some cool moments browsing the albums

in having said that I will share photos of my dad from a young age

to the age where he got sick and I have chosen not post any of his photos of when he was sick

It was so hard to see him fail the way he did and we suffored along with him for years before and he gave up his fight on Dec. 13, 2001

so for those of you who just want to see the wreath

just scroll down a little and for those of you who would like to travel down MY memory lane to remember my dad - keep reading!

I hung it my craft room for now so that my class Tomorrow can see it and get ideas for their wreath tomorrow

oh I think they will be like Annette's group and may not finish

but hey thats okay rigth lol

now onto my tribute post for my dad

My dad was 25 when he married my mom on Sept 1, 1962

and he was 30 when I was born I think it's cool that I we have exactly 30 years apart he he

anyways onto some photos

this photo was taken before my parents were married

in the early 60's

my mom and dad looks so very young

they both look truly gorgeous don't you think?

my dad was so handsome

no wonder my mom persude him

yha in those days they did things differently  he he

my mom was on a bus and she waved at my dad and the rest is history he he

oh wait she also lied to him about her age LOL
she was 7 years younger then him

here they are about to leave for their honeymoon

I love the attire on both my parents in this photo

this is my dad - not sure what year but I know I was born cause I am in the photo

in the background on the fireplace mantel lol

and then their was ME lol

I was the apple of my dad's eye

he loved his little girl so much

sorry about the quality of photos he he

but you know in the 60's there was not such thing as digital cameras

moving into the 70's now

I am on the far left with the red sock and red shorts lol

funny I still like red after that lol

next to me is my baby brother Paul

then my mom (Pat) and my dad

my dads real name is Rosaire but in the English speaking world they called him

"Bob" Personally I don't looked like a Bob ! he he

 mind you I don't look like a

Fouine either and that is what he used to call me lol

I totally love this photo

next to his family - his other love was animals

gheez wonder where I get that from uh? lol

always rescuing animals - that was my dad - I can't remember too many years in my childhood that we did not have a pet of some kind

sometimes more then one lol (right mom??))

this is a great classic photos I am thinking my mom must of taken it

you can just see the happiness in his smile

I remember that about him!

now into the 80's

yhap that's my dad and I

I don't love my style here so much either LOL

but my dad looks good - he he I like the photo

I really looked up to my dad - he taught me so much

when I am fixing a toilet or a sink or changing a fuse in my Hummer or drilling holes in signs

I think "Dad thank you so much for showing me how to me independent"

I have so many skills thanks to my dad

(I have great cooking skills thanks to my mom and grandma as well)

this is a bit better on the style lol

(my brother grew to be much taller then me hehe)-

in the center is my daddy

and me on the right

I often wonder if my dad and my brother hang out in heaven and look down on me and if they are proud of me - I wonder if they miss me as much as I miss them??

this has to be one of my favorite photos that I found in the albums

there is just something about this photo that makes me tear up

I am not sure how to put into words

but this is truly the DAD that I remember

happy and always joking and pulling pranks

I just love love this photo

I just so treasure the memories

and I thank you Mom and Dad for being such wonderful parents

something that I am also thankful for

is that Rex did get to be part of my dad's life before he got sick

I am blessed that Rex got know my dad

I really LOVE this photo in was taken in 1988

the year Rex and I were engaged

my mom thru us a beautiful engagement party

and it was so nice to have all my aunts and uncles from both my mom's side and my dad's side attend

and well my friends I will leave you with one last photo of my dad

this is priceless !

It's pumpkins 3D attempt and a few cardstock napkin rings

Good day friends

It's another start to a new weekend

yhippy for me

I want to share a little something that I created for my Thanksgiving table from Monday

first I need to show you where my inspiration came from

Karen did such a good job of these little pumkins that I just had to give it a try

ready

 

I tried a good many different sizes of stripes from 1 1/2'' all the way down to 1/2''

and worked with 12'' long all the way down to 6''

I used Pumpking pie Carstock along with different DSP

I also changed the amount of stipes

the wider the strip the less I put on my brad

and the thinner the strip the more I put on my brad

I just played around a few different ideas until I liked what I seen

then I did little strips of cardstock using early espresso

which I sprayed with shimmer spray

then rolled the stripes onto our beautiful new stylus

ouh created some pretty leaves with this stampinup die

I had fun with colours

can you tell

used pool party (I know my FAV)

soft suede and pumpkin pie as well as early espresso cardstock

A little shimmer action on the leaves here

then a gave them a little work out so they would conform to the pumpkin shape

I used my bone folder for this hehe

too cute uh?

let's see what they looked like on my table shall we?

ouh and yes look at the cute napkin rings we made as well

had help doing that thank you Renee and Woody

want to see that?

We used pumpkin pie cardstock

and stamped a few matching colours to our pumpkins (DSP colours)

with Gently falling stamp set

love this set

then we cut the cardstock on the  into 1'' strips by 11''

and cut again to 5 1/4''

so the strips were 1'' x 5 1/4''

then we used sticky strip on the ends and rolled them around the pretty napkins

and you can see that Max was helping alot

lol

it helps to be up before 3:00am hehe

Thursday little fun with a wreath that I made

hello friends

it's Thursay morning and I am looking so forward to the weekend

I am really really inspiring for a Sunday PJ day

here's to hoping right

okay so I made this wreath = oh I know they are out there cause everyone loves the new

simply score tool that Stampin Up has to offer now

and let me tell you that I love it the most

I played a lot with this idea along the way so it would be a little different

and I came up with this one

it's kinda fun

and I showed my girls on the weekend and they are game to make one in class

should be some fun right?

 
I used all sizes and shapes of DSP

and scored with the amazing simply score tool

and this is what I did

but I was going for christmas

how neat is that uh?

I had fun making this I also made one with Spice cake

now my girls get to decide on their own DSP and they will get to create their very own wreath

this was after I got off work at about 7:45pm(yhap I was at work at 3:00am yesterday and worked till 7:45pm)

so busy - oh my goodness I am so happy about that

and so blessed

Another quick post - It's a wreath created with DSP and a beautiful simply score board from Stampin Up!

hi everyone

it's Thursday morning and this week has just flown by

I have had very little time in the office and have huge orders to fill

I really am so thankful that business is GREAT

and I get to go on an install today yhippy love installs

well two actually he he

but first I want to share a little something that I created on Sunday morning

you see I know everyone has been making these and I just love them

so I thought that my girls in the classes would love to make one

sooooooooooo

this is what we are making for October classes

they each get to pick their DSP

and their Buttons and they go home with the rest of the DSP they don't use

at class

should be fun uh?

so here's where I started

 
ouh yes lot's of beautiful DSP and cardstock

have I ever mentioned how much I

LOVE my new simply score board from Stampin Up

and voila my second wreath i created

the first I used the spice cake

I made that Saturday morning in the madness of the other stuff

this one took a bit longer then the little one

but I like it don't you

announcing the last stampaholic challenge it's a 3D book recovered with Stampin Up DSP

it's Friday

phew made it thru another week

it's been filled with lots and lots of interuptions

but hey I did it -

now for the weekend coming up

I am actually going to get a bit of a break for two days

Rex and I are actually going to head to Jasper

this is the only get away we have had since our two day camping trip with the kids on July long weekend

so this is going to be nice

it's only for over night - but better then nothing right??

all right I have some news for you all

after much thought we at the SAH team have decided to put the

stampaholics challenge blog to rest

it seems that it's been very hard to make a go of it and as much as we have all enjoyed the blog challenge it seems to not be living up to it's potential

having said that I want to thank our wonderful SAH designers

we were really blessed to have had a great amount of talent on our team and they will be missed

sooooooooo my friends this is going to be my last post for SAH

I am covering it all up inside and out

 
covered now to decorate

 
and choosing stamps

I chose

Nature Walk and Notably Ornate

 
stamped on crump cake cardstock

 
then stamped a little more

 
I cut out the images and stamped a greeting

now for a bow out of seam binding so love seam binding

I put a peace of black satin down first

goooooodddddddddd Moooooorning WORLD(should be vietnam) lol!

hope you are all well on this wonderful rainy Friday Morning here in the Edmonton Area!

it's also a Stampaholics challenge

this week we have a 3D challenge

so I decided to make something to look good in my craft room and

the theme is gift giving

and well it's a gift for my craft room

lol

take a look what I did!

 
so I used some metal sheets

don't worry Annette Sunday I'll give you low down on this my dear

I used my BIG shot to emboss the metal sheet

 

then I used my ugly white plug plate

wrapped it all up

 
and voila my plug in

 
cool beans

not bad for my first try at this uh?

it would make a nice gift as well for someone!

Happy 18th Birthday to my baby girl Renee

It's Thursday one more day and it's another weekend upon us!

I really have a special little book to share with you in the celebration of our beautiful daughter!

18 years ago at 8:20 am we were blessed with our second child

She was a beautiful baby girl

I thought she was a boy lol and so we did not even have a girl's name picked out lol

what a memorable day - we waited three years to be blessed with our second child

we were so excited and Rex now it was time to name this little baby

so we asked my Grandma if we could name her after her late husband

my mom's dad and my grandfather

oh she was honoured

so Renee it! (my grandfather's name was Rene the male version)

our Renee was born 4 weeks early

 weighing 6lbs 2 oz.

and was only 19inches long

she was the most gorgeous baby girl (he he I know we all think that lol)

Today as I type this I totally remember all those emotions of that amazing day

Our wonderful son had a baby sister

Evan was so excited cause he thought Renee would come into the world and play with him

lol

okay sorry let me show you what I created for our beautiful Renee's 18th Birthday!

 
I started with many photos from the baby years to now

 
I based the size of the book on my largest photo

I did cut down lots of the photos but some I could not

I put her grad photo on the very front

and then went in the order of her growing up

some her first baby pictures

that little pink dress that she is wearing sitting with Evan

is a little dress that my grandma had knitted for her

I love that little dress I still have it :-)

 
I  put a white piece of card stock over every page then I matted all the photos

 
and the final touches were put on

I spent about 12 hours total on this little book

which meant many mornings in between making a card to post  to create this

 
so this is the front of the little book

I won't show you all the pages but I would like share some of them

these are the baby pages

I added some accents with a stampin write marker and a ruler on some of the pages

I used the oval punch to created some journaling

I wrote with my white gel pen

 
this is one of my favorite pages

Renee did alot of dance

and her favorite teacher of all time was

Miss Heather

she was so special to Renee and I love that photo of Miss Heather

with all four of her Solo Students for Jazz

if I recall that was Renee's best Jazz solo ever

 
this page is some of travelling we have done

the travelling could of been a book of it's own

but I chose some of the most memorable moments

like when Evan raced in the national even in Denver Colorado

and then Renee and I's Mexican cruise we took

and when Rex and I renewed our vows in Los Cabos

oh and who can forget Jamaica Mahn!

and last two pages are dedicated to Grad

I loved this event

so special to have photos taken with my family

So today Renee has to go to college

but after we will be taking her out for dinner

at original joes

you see you have to be 18 to go to this place

so now we can finally go there as a family

cause our baby girl is of age here in Alberta
